NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS No more live music @ The Empress Fitzroy’s longstanding pub, The Empress Hotel, will re-open next month. Unfortunately for punters and musicians, live music won’t be a feature anymore, as the once iconic band room will be replaced with a beer garden. Apply now for Push Songs 2015 Applications are now open for Push Songs 2015. Presented by The Push, APRA AMCOS, Arts Victoria and The Australia Council, the free song writing mentoring program will take place across February and March. Successful Victorian applicants will take part in three one-on-one song writing workshops, with mentors including Mark Seymour and Adalita. Applications close Friday January 30 and you can apply via surveymonkey.com/s/PS2015R1 ‘Count Us In’ applications open now for students ‘Count Us In’ is a nationwide student song writing competition, offering students the chance to collaborate and co-write a song with an Australian superstar. The 2015 competition is now open and entries close on Tuesday February 20.
